Milk Tide: Christy Matson and Amanda Valdez is currently on view at Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, VA till May 24th. Never one to want my career to be New York centric, it was so fun being in Richmond for the opening and hosting a gallery talk with Christy on Saturday. Richmond has a robust art community, centered around the art department at Virginia Commonwealth University and its long history in the city. It was really nice to connect with other artists, professors and students and share about our processes, our connection to drawing and landscape, and how we move those drawings into textile based paintings.
